us a couple of weeks notice and we'll come to your weekly or monthly faculty
meeting. We will do either a presentation or a workshop, depending on your

The following presentations are offered by the Women's Center:
- Sexual Harassment Prevention and Education - This session seeks to initiate a dialogue on sexual harassment; to examine the conditions which promote and/or support sexual harassment and discrimination; and to develop strategies for responding to and preventing sexual harassment. The workshop is interactive and asks participants to evaluate a variety of situations that may or may not constitute sexual harassment and discuss issues of climate through the use of case scenarios. The session also details the definition of sexual harassment, a supervisor's responsibilities and liabilities, and what to do if you are sexually harassed and the resources available.
- Building Community and Taking on the Challenges of Diversity and Respect - This session seeks to engage participants in a discussion about the rights, responsibilities, and obligations of being a member of a community. Community is defined on several levels, including the University, the department, and the community of scholars in a discipline. Participants will use the frameworks of personal and professional success, identity/social group membership, and creating “simple rules” to explore strategies for supporting diversity and respect. In particular, participants are asked to consider their roles as student, teacher, and colleague.
- Diversity - This session seeks to explore participants' identities, and the myths, stereotypes, and misinformation associated with different groups; to explore the ways in which we benefit and are disadvantaged by our identities; and how to be an ally when someone is being treated differently because of who she/he is.
